ly in the more distant past, almost all the household articles of everyday use were made out of this material. The Greek potters achieved such perfection in the manufacture and decoration of their products that they spread through wide areas of the Medit
erranean. Pots were often exported as mere containers, as in the case of the amphorae, or, under other circumstances, were used as vessels from which to drink the exported wine. \par
